How does GenCheck work?GenCheck helps you safely manage your generator during power outages. Our guided setup walks you through your generator specs and the devices you want to run. We then show you real-time capacity and warn you before overloading.

Do I need internet to use GenCheck?No! GenCheck works completely offline once installed. This is critical during storms when cellular service may be limited.

What generators are supported?GenCheck includes a database of 25+ popular generator models (Honda, Generac, Champion, Westinghouse, etc.). Don't see your generator? You can also manually enter your generator's specifications.

How much does GenCheck cost?GenCheck offers a 3-day free trial. After that, it's $3.99/year (less than $0.33/month). First-time subscribers who activate during their free trial get 25% off ($2.99 for the first year).

I have an offer code, where do I enter it?Open GenCheck → Settings → "Enter Offer Code". Your access activates immediately, even offline.

Why does GenCheck offer free codes during certain storms?Living in Florida, we know the impact of storms first-hand. GenCheck provides free codes to first responders and their families during storms.

Why does the app require a subscription?The subscription model helps support the ongoing development of the app, including identifying and creating profiles for the most common generators and household devices. Each profile requires an extensive review of the power production and consumption (running watts, starting watts), as well as integrating this data into the app database so that the "Storm Safe" offline mode works without an internet connection.

Can I cancel any time?Absolutely. Cancel through your iPhone settings under Subscriptions. No questions asked.

What happens if I don't subscribe after the trial?Your saved configurations remain accessible, but you'll be limited to viewing your setup. Upgrading reactivates all features immediately.

SAFETY & TECHNICAL

What if my generator or device isn't in your database?ou can manually enter specifications for any generator or device. Check your owner's manual or the nameplate on the equipment. After the outage, please send us your information in email / screenshot so that we can review and add it for future updates.

Does GenCheck account for starting surge (startup watts)?Yes! We include both running and starting wattage for motor-driven devices (refrigerators, AC units, power tools). This prevents overloading during device startup.

Can GenCheck tell me how long my generator will run on a tank of gas?Not yet, but fuel/runtime calculator is our #1 requested feature. It's coming in a future update!

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

What iPhone models are supported?GenCheck requires iOS 17 or later. This includes iPhone XR (2018) and newer models.

How do I save multiple setups?After configuring your generator and devices, tap "Save Configuration" and give it a name (like "Summer Outage" or "Hurricane Setup"). Switch between saved setups anytime.

Can I share my setup with family?Currently, configurations are Apple ID-specific. While you cannot share with others, you can use the app on all of your devices.
